Mountain Biking In The White Mountains

The White Mountains of New Hampshire offer some amazing opportunities for mountain biking. From lift-accessed downhill riding at Cranmore and Attitash Mountain Resorts, to some of the Northeast’s best trail networks in North Conway.

There are even 12 miles of riding at our very own trail network behind Attitash Mountain Resort to explore!

Trails at Attitash Mountain Village

With over 12 miles of beginner and intermediate terrain at Rogers Crossing behind the resort, there’s no need to leave the resort because there’s a day of riding to be had at Attitash Mountain Village. We recommend taking River Run and High Water, which runs along the Saco River, all the way to Thorne Pond.

Cranmore Mountain Resort

Cranmore has a variety of trails for all skill levels, including some easy and intermediate options as well as more challenging terrain. You can take the chairlift up and then ride down on one of the many downhill trails. There’s also a pump track and skills park for beginner riders.

Great Glen Trails

This network of trails near the base of Mount Washington offers a mix of beginner-friendly and more challenging options. There are over 20 miles of trails to explore, with stunning views of the Presidential Range along the way. Attitash Mountain Village guests get FREE use of the trails system for biking, just ask the front desk how to redeem this offer!

Hurricane Mountain Trail Network

Located near North Conway, Hurricane Mountain is home to several mountain biking trails that range from easy to difficult. The Hurricane Mountain Trail is a popular option for experienced riders, with technical features and steep climbs. The Red Tail  & Charlie Don’t Surf Trails are oft-awarded trails by regional riders. Helmets and protective gear are highly recommended here.

Whitaker Woods

This network of trails in North Conway is popular for both mountain biking and cross-country skiing. There are several loops to choose from, ranging from easy to difficult, and the trails are well-maintained. Starting points are present at the Whitaker Meeting House on the White Mountain Highway or Kearsarge Road in North Conway.

Mt. Washington Valley Rec Path

This 6-mile paved path, completed in spring 2023, runs from Cranmore Mountain Resort to Hemlock Lane in North Conway and is suitable for all levels of riders. It’s a great way to see the scenery of the valley without venturing into the woods. Learn more about the MWV Trails Association and this awesome project!
